"Alethea's essays are a delight. Warm, witty, and wise, they never fail to bring a smile to my face."

I'm not going to forget this week, by god...mostly because these are some really great stories that should not be missed.

* Sit back with your hot morning coffee (are you listening, Mom?) and check out this fantastic piece from my new favorite author and Man of the Universe, Ken Scholes. Hitler, Chaplin, Hemmingway, and alternate history...who could ask for anything more? Check out "Summer in Paris Light from the Sky" at Clarkesworld magazine HERE.

* The first thing that grabbed me when I looked up Mary Robinette Kowal's "For Solo Cello, op.12" was Emrah Elmasli's illustration that went with it. It is just so quietly beautiful, and a perfect companion to this 2007 Nebula Award-nominated piece. Her story can be found HERE at Cosmos. It will also be featured in Rich Horton's Science Fiction: The Best of the Year.

* From across the pond comes Mark Charan Newton's "The Attempted Honour Killings of Salam and Baseema," featured in Serendipity magazine HERE. Mark's novel The Reef will be released this summer, and he just celebrated a two-book deal to Tor UK. Congrats, Mark!

Have a great weekend...
